Merlot Veneto Igt

Made from Merlot grapes grown in the municipalities of Ponzano Veneto and Villorba. The grapes are harvested by hand, sorted in the vineyard, fermented with low sulphur dioxide content, punched down daily and left on the lees until spring.

It has a pleasantly lively ruby red colour. It immediately reveals an appealing bouquet of good intensity, complexity and personality; we detect, in progression: small wild berries, in particular blackberries, red roses, sweet spices, pipe tobacco and incense; then a pleasant mineral opening with hints of graphite. On the palate, it has an enveloping softness on a warm background; the tannins are silky and caressing; then the wine gradually opens up to a balanced sapidity and a fresh finish with fruity notes reminiscent of red plums and macerated morello cherries. It is an ideal wine for roasted white meats, barbecued poultry and pork, Vicenza-style salt cod, and semi-mature cow’s milk cheeses.
Serve at 14-16°C.
